📱 3. PERMISSIONS WE USE

📷 CAMERA PERMISSION

Used for: Scanning QR codes in real-time + Pinch-to-Zoom feature

• Camera frames processed locally using ML Kit
• Never recorded, saved, or transmitted
• Can be denied (generator still works)

⚡ VIBRATE PERMISSION

Used for: Haptic feedback on successful scans

• No data collected
• Can be disabled in Settings

💾 STORAGE PERMISSION (Android 12 and below)

Used for: Saving generated QR codes to gallery + File import feature

• Location: /Pictures/CosmicQR/ on your device only
• Can be denied (save feature disabled, file import limited)

📊 3.5 LOCAL DATA STORAGE (HISTORY & FAVORITES)

Cosmic QR includes History and Favorites features to enhance your experience:

• ✓ Scan history stored locally on your device only
• ✓ Favorite QR codes saved to device's internal database
• ✓ No data ever transmitted to any server
• ✓ Clear history anytime via Settings screen
• ✓ All data permanently deleted when you uninstall

🔒 Privacy Guarantee: Your scan history is YOURS alone. We never see, store, or have access to any QR codes you scan or generate.

📁 3.6 FILE IMPORT FEATURE

The app can read text from files you select for QR generation:

• ✓ Files read locally on your device only
• ✓ No file content ever transmitted or stored externally
• ✓ Supported: Text files (.txt), PDFs (.pdf), Images (text extraction via ML Kit)
• ✓ You must manually select files - no auto-access
• ✓ No file data saved, cached, or shared after use

⚠️ Note: PDF text extraction and image OCR processed entirely on-device using PDFBox and ML Kit. No data leaves your device.

📢 3.7 ADVERTISING (AdMob)

Cosmic QR uses Google AdMob to display ads (banner, native, interstitial):

• ✓ AdMob may collect data for personalized ads
• ✓ Opt out of personalized ads in device settings
• ✓ No personal information from app shared with AdMob

Cosmic QR is safe for all ages. We collect no personal information from anyone, including children under 13. The app is rated for users 18+ due to camera functionality.
